La Union Road Trip Diary: Agoo Basilica

Facade of Basilica Minore of Our Lady of Charity

It was my first time to go to the province of La Union. Whenever I travel, I would usually visit historical places, try local food and experience nature.

Inside the church

Our first stop is the Basilica Minore of Our Lady of Charity, also known as Agoo Basilica. The architectural style of the church is Mexican Baroque. The Agoo Basilica is one of the 12 minor basilicas granted by the Vatican.

A huge painting inside the church

It is interesting to note that there are also paintings inside the basilica. Too bad we weren’t able to go inside the Santa Monica Parish Museum.

Just across the basilica is Jose D. Aspiras Civic Center
